Can you tell me a bit about your role at Habit Action?
I work in the design team here at Habit Action, I work on detailing and designing our projects.

What is the most challenging part of your role?
Time, don’t we all wish we had more of it! 😊

What excites you the most about your role OR your future at Habit Action?
I love to transform spaces! To take somewhere which has become dated or no longer suitable for the client and injecting new life into it, creating a place that can have a huge impact on people’s day-to-day lives.

Which of the company values most resonates with you and why?
‘Client First’ to take their vision and challenge to inspire and deliver the very best project.

What would a typical day look like for you?
What’s great about my job is that no two days ever look the same. I can be spatial designing, pulling together schemes, presenting to clients, producing detailed and technical drawings, specifying, or out on site.

Can you tell me a bit about a current or recent project you’re working on?
I am currently working on a really exciting project in Hemel Hempstead for a large global company. The scope of this project covers a mixture of Cat A and Cat B works, completely transforming the building they are relocating to. It’s going to be a good one… watch this space!

Where do you draw your design inspiration from?
Everywhere! Places I’ve travelled to, exhibitions, galleries, and books. Having collaborative colleagues and other designers to bounce ideas off is a great tool for inspiration. Also, my many years in residential design has given me unique access to understanding how different environments affect people’s lives on a more personal level.

What are the key signs that stand out for you when an office is well designed?
The spatial design and the layout of the building. If that isn’t right, it really knocks off the balance and flow of the design. Along with this, it’s important that there is a mixture of different working environments within a space such as professional and focused areas, areas with some home comforts, and areas for socialising, having fun, and collaborating. Having the right lighting is also really important!

If you won the lottery what would you spend it on?
I would travel and experience as much of the world and cultures as possible, then get a countryside home with lots of land for animals and family!

Favourite holiday destination?
I have a mixture depending on the mood of the holiday! But I will go to Florida any day for the fun of the parks.

Cats or dogs?
Both! Any animal is my favourite.
