Mental Health Foundation
Wellbeing Centric HQ in London for Leading Mental Health Charity
In an organisation and a society where mental health is such a critical part over everyday life, this new HQ for the Mental Health Foundation has put their research and advice into practice. Although Habit Action operates in an entirely different field of work, our people centric approach and our passion for improving the daily lives of our clients gave our two organisations a unique opportunity to create something special together. This fantastic space is designed to not only feel like a home away from home for their people but also a welcoming place for their clients to come to.
Having explored a few different site options back in 2020, MHF took the decision to go for a 2-story office building located in the heart of the capital just a couple of blocks away from the iconic Shard building. Habit Action were delighted to be selected as MHF’s chosen fit out partner not only due to our growing experience within the Charity and Not For Profit sector, but also because due to the rich heritage of the organisation and their passion for people and wellbeing.

The brief for this project was to create a space that not only their people would love but also a space they felt proud to bring their clients into, with key areas of focus being collaboration, wellbeing, inclusivity, and sustainability. Following a detailed design process led by Daisy Munns and Murray Hibbert, Habit Action were able to successfully deliver on the brief, bringing all aspects of the MHF brand to life in this dynamic, vibrant space.
The reception space with its vibrant colours, planting and exposed services creates an impactful entrance to the office with the eye-catching light features and exposed ceilings drawing the eye up to capture the whole space. With full wheelchair access everywhere in the office, this space truly is designed to be accessible and welcoming to everyone. Also giving the team at MHF flexibility to adapt the space as necessary has been enabled by the flexible furniture solutions in the canteen and meeting spaces. Other features in the space include a wellbeing room, a games room, podcast suite, phone booths, flexible partitioning in the meeting rooms, height adjustable desking, and a lift.
